針對反課綱微調抗爭態勢擴大，行政院長毛治國31日下午再次對反課綱學生自殺身亡表達悲痛，他也呼籲大眾尊重學生家長的看法。
毛治國也表示，立法院長王金平召集朝野協商討論是否召開臨時會，如果有需要，他會請教育部到立法院針對課綱議題專案報告；毛揆也指示教育部長吳思華繼續和社會各界溝通。毛治國說：『(原音)立法院王院長在今天下午會召開朝野協商，討論是否要開臨時會，未來如果有需要的話，我們會請教育部針對課綱問題向立法院做專案報告；最後我們也希望吳部長繼續跟社會各界用心溝通。』
毛治國也重申政院對課綱爭議的原則，強調學生學習權益不能中斷，新、舊課本並用，有差異的部分不會列入考試範圍，學校可以準備補充教材；他表示，關於課綱爭議，政院將秉持公開透明、容納大家意見的原則。
